Barbara is a person-centred counsellor with over a decade of experience. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from Queens University Belfast and is a Professional Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). For the last 11 years Barbara has worked for a local cancer charity, providing support for cancer patients and their families.

What I offer is an opportunity for you to have a safe space to explore and untangle whatever you need to untangle - without judgement. It is my role to really hear you and to help you to understand your thoughts and feelings. Together, we might begin to question old narratives that no longer serve you. Whatever you bring is welcome in that space. Often when we feel truly heard, we find life's challenges easier to navigate than they first appeared. I genuinely believe that together we can find a way through whatever has brought you to this point. I also believe that therapy can fundamentally change how you feel about yourself (in a good way!) and how you relate to others in your world. I want everyone to feel welcome. We all come with our own story and my role is to hear yours."

Therapy offered: Person-centred, with mindfulness techniques and focussing

Frequency of sessions: Agreed on an individual basis

Specialisms: Loss in all its forms, anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, family issues, low self esteem, pre- and post-bereavement and end-of-life

Free consultation: 15-30 minutes via telephone or zoom

Fee per 50 minute session: £50

Cancellation fees: Discussed and negotiated directly

Concessions available: 10% reduction for students. Also on individual basis by negotiation

Payments accepted: Cash or bank transfer same day as session
