Humanistic, Integrative Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapist & Art Psychotherapist

Nicholas is a humanistic psychotherapist with a broad range of experience working in England and Ireland, as well as being an accomplished visual artist. Nicholas weaves Buddhist and psychodynamic principles into experiential work to promote active imagination and here and now awareness, with a firm foundation in attachement and trauma. He holds a MSc in Art Psychotherapy, an MA in Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapy and is an accredited member of both the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP).

"My work is very much person centred and relies on the felt sense of the bodily experience, where possible, and when a sense of safety and trust has been well established between us. This intimate and shared field of experience benefits from, but is not exclusive to, face to face work. I tend to emphasise the importance of getting to the root of what is distressing you to get beyond the surface symptoms. While I am often surprised by our capacity to suddently 'break through into new territory and transform, it requires a great deal of careful nurturing and support, over time, to establish ground and a sense of rootness. I therefore prefer to work more on a long term basis but am happy to work short term as well."
